Having combined their annual giving day challenges into one last year, Lehigh University Athletics and Lehigh Development and Alumni Relations are pleased to announce that Giving Day + March Mania will return in 2025.
Over two days, March 25–26, Lehigh will work to eclipse their successful totals from last year. The combined 2024 campaign raised more than $2.1 million from more than 3,800 alumni, a testament to the power of collective giving.
“We are excited by what we accomplished together last year thanks to the collective strength of our spirited community,” says Joe Sterrett ’76 ’78G ’03P ’05P ’07P ’09P, the Murray H. Goodman ’48 Dean of Athletics. “Alumni, athletes, fans, parents, families, staff, students, and friends of the university were active and rose to the fundraising challenges before them that helped unlock matching gifts.”
“Giving Day + March Mania fuels the work that Lehigh’s colleges, departments, programs, and teams accomplish each day,” says Carol Packard, vice president, development and alumni relations. “Each year, our community has the chance to take an active role in building momentum and making progress in key areas of Lehigh’s strategy, Inspiring the Future Makers, such as scholarships and financial aid.”
March Mania began in 2015 and mirrored the excitement and energy from the NCAA basketball tournament. Gifts from the Lehigh community help provide teams with the resources they need to compete at the highest level and make Lehigh Athletics a program of distinction year after year. Contributors can support a specific sport and the Dean’s Fund for Athletics Excellence and compete against other athletics donor teams.
Giving Day, launched in 2017, involves challenges and matches across colleges, departments, alumni groups, and professional networks. Students learn through on-campus events how philanthropy impacts their experiences at Lehigh.
