Stephanie Fisher has been named assistant vice president for Alumni Relations in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, effective July 23.
In this role, Fisher leads engagement strategies that strengthen connections among Lehigh’s 88,000 alumni, foster lifelong relationships between alumni and their alma mater, and help advance the Lehigh strategy and institutional priorities.
Participation by alumni through programs, events, communications, and philanthropy is a key goal of GO Beyond: The Campaign for Future Makers, the university’s $1.25 billion fundraising and engagement effort. Since the public launch of the campaign, more than 53% of all contactable alumni have been engaged.
Fisher came to Lehigh in 2017 as associate director of class affinities and became director in 2021. In 2022, she was named executive director of Alumni Relations, overseeing regional and volunteer strategy, professional and intellectual engagement, and the class and traditions program areas.
Carol Packard, vice president for Development and Alumni Relations, said, “Relationships are at the core of all that Stephanie does. She has strong connections with alumni from every generation and is continually thinking about how to serve our alumni community. I am thrilled that she will be continuing in this highly visible role at Lehigh, and I look forward to seeing her embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.”
Since Fisher joined the university, she has worked with every class to develop their Reunion experience, boosting attendance and relationships. She has also worked extensively with recent classes to enhance young alumni programming, resulting in stronger volunteer leadership, visibility, and communications. In her role, she has also stewarded and evolved Lehigh traditions such as the Bed Races and partnered on the planning and execution of the university’s annual Giving Day + March Mania effort. She also served the university as a member of the Council for Equity and Community from 2018-20.
Before she came to Lehigh, Fisher worked in the nonprofit sector. She developed a dual language learning initiative in partnership with the Literacy Center and the Allentown Public Library, enhancing reading and storytelling resources for non-English speakers. She holds a bachelor of arts in English from Temple University and a master of public administration from Villanova University.
