South Mountain is home to Lehigh University. It is the bedrock of our grounds and the place where Lehigh was founded through a singular act of magnanimous philanthropy in 1865. It is iconic of our strength and stability.
For that reason, it is a fitting name for a society recognizing consecutive giving and the loyalty of donors. The South Mountain Society celebrates donors who make gifts year after year, providing a powerful foundation from which Lehigh can support critical aspects of the student experience.

South Mountain Society recognition includes alumni and friends who have made a gift of any amount to Lehigh for three or more consecutive fiscal years (July 1 - June 30), demonstrating the ambition, consistency, and dedication that make progress possible.
