BETHLEHEM, PA - Lehigh University has announced that GO Beyond: The Campaign for Future Makers has raised $918 million dollars toward its $1.25 billion goal as of June 30, 2024.
To date, the campaign has raised $261 million in support for scholarships and financial aid; $270 million for research, capital projects, and faculty support; and $387 million for the student experience. In 2024, GO Beyond also exceeded its goal of engaging 50% of contactable alumni through events, volunteering, networking, fundraising, and digital engagement.
President Joseph J. Helble ’82 applauded the generosity of the Lehigh community as the university makes strides toward the goals of Inspiring the Future Makers strategic plan. “We are pursuing bold goals: to become national leaders in student outcomes; to double our research activity; and to support a vibrant and student-centered community,” he said. “Through the GO Beyond campaign, our alumni, parents, and friends have stepped up as Future Makers and taken action to elevate and move the university forward through their philanthropy and involvement.”
Financial aid and scholarships continue to be a top priority of the campaign as the Lehigh Commitment goes into effect in fall 2024. The new program provides a full-tuition grant to all undergraduate students from families with a total income of less than $75,000, reinforcing the university’s dedication to enrolling talented students regardless of family income.
Carol Packard joined Lehigh as vice president for Development and Alumni Relations in April 2024. “The momentum of the university, the strategic plan, and the campaign continues to build,” she said. “We are all grateful for our community of highly engaged alumni, volunteers, and philanthropists and proud of the progress we’ve made together. We look forward to raising our sights even higher.”
During the fiscal year (July 1, 2023, to June 20, 2024), the campaign raised $87 million for university priorities including scholarships, capital projects, research, faculty support, and the student experience. This includes $3.8 million for the Lehigh Fund, which supports financial aid and scholarships and other university priorities.
Development and Alumni Relations welcomed more than 6,600 alumni attendees to more than 400 events in FY24. In addition, more than 2,000 alumni supported students through the Lehigh Connects career networking platform. An estimated 25% of those engaged this year had not been involved since the campaign publicly launched. Lehigh also raised nearly $2 million during its annual Giving Day + March Mania effort, a combined challenge that supports all aspects of Lehigh.
GO: The Campaign for Lehigh was launched in 2018 and extended in fall 2023 as GO Beyond: The Campaign for Future Makers, with a new fundraising goal of $1.25 billion. For more information on the campaign and its priorities, visit the campaign webpage to learn more.
