A Model of Staying Connected
Assistant General Counsel, GE Capital, North America Life and Health
B.A. Economics
Affinity or Alliance: Lehigh Asian Alumni Network (LAAN)

How did your Lehigh experience inform, help or influence your life now?
I met my husband when we were students at Lehigh, so the university has been a foundational influence in my life. I volunteered as a class officer and organized fundraising events as a student, and I continued to volunteer after I graduated. Now, I am honored to be a member of LUAA Board, and involved with Lehigh Lawyers Association, Alumni Volunteers for Admission and Lehigh Women’s Alliance.

What has been the most challenging thing you’ve faced since graduating?
The most challenging thing that I faced was when I worked in a job where my male boss treated women unfairly, favoring the only male co-worker. I left the job after three years.

What excites you right now?
I am excited to be part of the creation of a new affinity group, Lehigh Asian Alumni Network (LAAN). LAAN plans to provide opportunities for career development, networking, and community engagement to Asian alumni and students.

What advice would you give current Lehigh students?
Take advantage of all the opportunities available to you. Lehigh has so many opportunities now (student organizations, affinity groups, sports, club activities) where students can expand their circle, join to meet others, and form lifelong friendships.

What keeps you connected to Lehigh?
My family and the many friends we have made there over the years. My husband, daughter, and son are all Lehigh graduates. My husband and I tailgate at home football games and attend other Lehigh events. I am the '83 Class Correspondent, so it is my job (and pleasure) to stay connected with my classmates.
