Southside Bethlehem's Saxbys

If you need a little caffeine pick-me-up, we’ve got you covered! We spoke with students and got their take on the five best places to get coffee off campus, their order recommendations, and why they love those locations.

1. Saxbys (3 W Morton Street): Directly across from Farrington Square, Saxbys is the perfect place to grab a coffee if you’re on campus and need something in a pinch. Typically, it’s full of students catching up with friends or getting some last-minute studying in. If you’re not sure what to order, the Salted Caramel Cold Brew comes highly recommended.

2. Deja Brew (101 W 4th Street): If you’re in need of some coffee AND a good sandwich or salad, Deja Brew is the place for you. Deja Brew is a five-minute walk from campus and a great place to sit and enjoy your food. If you’re in need of a good recommendation, you can’t go wrong with a Caramel Macchiato!

3. Lit Coffee Roastery and Bakeshop (26 E 3rd Street): This next place comes highly recommended as one of the best in Bethlehem. Although Lit is a longer walk from campus (7-8 minutes), its coffee paired with a delicious baked good is a combination you can’t miss. Lit’s English Toffee Cappuccino always hits the spot!

4. The Joint (77 W Broad Street, 18c): If you’re visiting the Northside, The Joint is a delicious option. This coffee spot is well worth the drive from campus. With ample seating, The Joint is a great place to sit and get a little work done. You’ll find some unique coffee flavors on the menu. If you’re looking to branch out and try something new, the Lavender Cappuccino is a great place to start!

5. Starbucks (502 E 3rd Street): Lastly, you can never go wrong with the South Bethlehem Starbucks on 3rd Street. No matter where you are, you can count on Starbucks to give you that consistent, delicious flavor. A student we spoke to swore up and down that the Vanilla Sweet Cream Nitro Cold Brew is the best thing on the menu!
